academic achievement classes k-8

The morning session of the K-8 Summer School at 82nd Street Academics helps children get a head start on the grade that they will attend in the fall. We use the New York State Learning Standards to plan lessons in Math, Reading, and Writing. Morning Academic Classes start at 9:00 AM and end at 12:00 PM. The new Learning Park playground complements learning by offering a unique opportunity for recreation. Click here to learn more about Academic Achievement Classes for Grades K-8.

"learning in action" lab k-8

The afternoon session of the K-8 summer program, our "Learning in Action" Lab, offers an enriching supplement to the morning session. Classes start at 1:00 PM (after lunchtime) and end at 4:00 PM. Students will go on educational field trips and enjoy special visitors throughout the summer. Extended hours are available until 6:30 PM. Click here for more information on our "Learning in Action" Lab for students entering Kindergarten-8th Grade.

Every year, students explore a different summer theme which is designed to enhance the learning experience. Theme-related assignments and projects are carefully interwoven into the academic and creative curriculum. Field trips and special visitors will also help students to fully explore and contribute to the summer theme. This year's theme is "My Superhero."
